aespa (에스파; stylized as æspa) is a four-member girl group from SM Entertainment. They debuted on November 17, 2020, with the digital single “Black Mamba.” Their name is a combination of “æ”, which stands for “Avatar X Experience”, and “aspect”, which means “two-sided”. Together, the meaning of the group's name is the ability to experience a new world through one's avatar.
